About
Based in Glasgow, Scotland, Lisa J. Potter grew up in Jedburgh and studied at The Scottish College Of Textiles in Galashiels.
“I love history and growing up in Scotland I’ve always been surrounded by it.”
Surrounded by beautiful, historical architecture, made from wonderful textured materials, it has seeped into her DNA. As a child Lisa played in the grounds of Jedburgh Abbey and Mary Queen Of Scots House. Lisa has lived in some beautiful sandstone buildings, a cottage in a wood, a country estate, and a flat overlooking the impressive Stirling Bridge.
“We love history and preserve it but we also use it, live alongside it and live in it.”
These buildings have been here for multiple generations to love and live with. A backdrop to the lives those people have lived. A stage set for each story to play out.
“I’ve always been interested in fantasy stories and fairy tales, but also myths and legends, stories that might have just a hint of truth”
Fascination with make believe stories, particularly where historical fact has blurred over time into myth and legend, inspired the collection of “Village Houses” as a backdrop for your own magical stories…………….. just add imagination.
Currently working in pen and ink with some watercolours. The first 6 pieces in the “Village Houses” collection are now available to purchase as signed limited edition giclee prints, A4 unframed.
